Collaboration is key
At Lightning, we design your event, down to the very smallest detail and transform the look and feel of your party. Crucially, the team always works alongside your planner, venue, florist and caterer. Such close collaboration ensures a consistent aesthetic and atmosphere for your party.
All manner of Parties
The team work on a full range of events from intimate dinners for 10 to corporate events for 1000s. We cover weddings, brand activations, 21st & 50th birthdays, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and everything in between. And so there is always plenty of opportunity to get creative, and no party is too big or too small.
Made-to-Order
Bespoke event design and production comprises the majority of Lightning’s work. The beauty of working this way is that no one party is the same! Similarly, it is these individual touches that will create more memorable moments for you and your guests. Finally, with customised design, you have total creative freedom and the chance to create something unique and not simply inspired by wedding trends or themes.
The Way we work
Firstly, our clients approach the team with a brief. Then the design process starts by sitting down together and discussing overarching ideas and inspiration. Most importantly, our design team can be as involved as much or as little as you like. Either you come to us with your independently developed ideas, or feel free to totally trust in our designers to come up with a range of concepts and mood boards for you.
Once we have colour palettes agreed upon and sketches and visuals for the lighting design, dance floor and structures, we will co-ordinate with the caterers and florists. This ensures cohesion across the food and floristry and we can also discuss where we will be working together more closely. For example, if we are building a bespoke cocktail bar or a variety of pop-up inspired food stations. Alternatively, if there is a floral ceiling installation, we would provide the support structure and manage the installation alongside your florist’s team. At the same time, we’ll be talking to your band and DJ to make sure we can design a lighting spectacle to match their performances and fill the dance floor all night.
3D Design & Builds
The team have a wealth of experience designing models and structures, including bars, stages, backdrops and dance floors. 3D drawings from our design team will help to visualise the finished product and bring these concepts to life. In addition, because we are building from scratch, we can style these pieces in an infinite array of finishes and colours. Jewel-toned pockets of velvet seating are perfect for a 1920s inspired evening. Or, how about a vivid and iconic paisley print tablescape for a 70s party? Perhaps a UV glowing, hand-painted dance floor for an 18th birthday… the options are endless.
Perfect Lighting
Lighting sets the mood for your celebration and its impact should never be underestimated. Lighting design options can range from suspended crystal chandeliers to create an elegant and timeless feel, to a laser lighting sequence choreographed to match the DJ’s energy and soundtrack. Alternatively, subtle accents of lighting complement more intimate dinners for an atmospheric and candlelit inspired glow.
